About Flynn
Hi! My name’s Flynn, and I’ve been writing poetry long before my writing was legible.
I usually write about belonging, whether that’s with other people, or in the sense of the world itself, particularly through a queer lens.
If even one person can read something of mine and feel comforted, related to, or seen, I feel like I’ve done my job as a writer.
Featuring: identity, Grandmas giving editorial advice, mentorship, illegible handwriting, angsty journal entries, killing your darlings versus saving them for somewhere else, being Jim’s shadow writer, creating a space that’s pure chill as a pedagogy, feeling at home when you’re writing, letting students run workshops, mint sauce, creating a sense of ‘okayness’, writer’s block having you in its grasp, building whole poems built on random one-liners, and the joy of simply picking up a pen.
With forever gratitude to my brother, Tom Hall, for providing the opening/closing soundtrack.
