“We are all reborn in our grief.”
- Gaynor Hall
Take The Love With You is a project I will only ever describe as transformative.
A collection of writing by four women, each of whom have lost a child. A journey through grief, towards love. One year in the making, on practically no budget.
Each page floods with truth and clarity and unwavering courage.
Every word centred on the feeling, the feeling.
A completely free digital flipbook, also downloadable as a scrollable PDF.
Now live and readily available in the link section of these show notes.
More than a book, this is a call to action: to recognise that the wall of silence associated with the death of a child must change. Families affected by child loss should feel able to express and process their grief. Talking therapies in isolation may not be sufficient.
As you read this, I will be in St Helens, England, preparing for the celebratory launch event of the book, as part of National Grief Awareness Week in the UK.
This episode is the first of a special three-week series, in which I invite three of the four Mums to talk about the individual and collective journeys taken to get here.
A book. A website. A launch event.
If you know of anyone impacted by the death of a child, please share this conversation, these completely free resources.
Any comment, response, restack, will make a difference.
Take The Love With You exists because the individuals within it wanted to write something that might help other parents who have experienced child loss feel less alone.
This, then, is for Gaynor, Gill, Hayley, and Rachel.
For Craig, Zachary, Ellis, and Erin.
May their voices sing forever from these pages.
Introducing Gaynor (Mum Of Craig)
Hi.
I live in Runcorn in Cheshire now, although I was born in Liverpool. I am now retired and hate it, as I have too much time on my hands.
My hobbies are reading, writing and sewing. I am at my happiest, these days, when I am spending time with my grandchildren.
I smile every time I think about the amazing memories of my beautiful boy, Craig. My favourite place to be is a place called Cala Bona, in Majorca.
I keep going for my daughter, and grandson, and to keep Craig's memory alive.
Xxxx
